Six months of background info
Candidates are referred to us by trusted partner organisations — so we already have at least six months of background information before we start our own series of assessments.
You’re in safe hands because for four years we’ve been carefully selecting people who are ready — and excited — to turn their lives around.
Six weeks of assessment
We work with candidates one-on-one for six weeks before making an introduction to you as a host or a business.
You don’t have to carry out full DBS background checks — because we we take care of that for you. We also perform a series of assessments to ensure candidates are trustworthy, reliable — and ready to thrive given the chance.
Meticulous matching
Next we meticulously match suitable candidates with an employer and a host. We spend time understanding your needs first - and we don’t take this responsibility lightly.
Zero-Risk
As a host, Standing Tall pays your rent straight to you for the first three months. This gives your guest a practical pathway to independence. During the first three months of the let they establish budgeting skills — and from month three, they pay you directly.
As a business, Standing Tall employs your new teammate on your behalf for the first three months. So it’s only once you’ve been working with your new teammate for three months - and you’re comfortable they’re a good fit, that you’ll employ them directly.

Steve’s Story
A skilled plasterer by trade, we matched Steve with a stable job at M Lambe Construction last year. Then we matched him with Ben, his Amici Host. Renting Ben’s spare room gave Steve the safe base he needed to go to and from work.
Steve was able to save money for a deposit. And after six months he got the keys to his own place.
Steve feels good about things again now. He’s got a new partner, a stable home and a safe job.
He’s a valuable team member working his way towards a management role at Lambe’s.
He hopes one day he’ll have the opportunity to pay it forward by supporting other Standing Tall hires.

Funnily enough, it’s the random chats about how shit West Ham are, for example that made a difference for people’s self esteem! That’s where the idea for Amici Hosting came from.
I was already trying to match people with work, by going out to local businesses. But when you’re living in a noisy night shelter, it’s almost impossible to hold down a job. You can’t get a good night’s sleep!
Now we partner with incredible hosts from all walks of life. And we recruit talent for national businesses like HSBC and National Rail. We’ve just launched in two more UK cities - Manchester and London. And with your help, over the next five years we’ll help 200 people move away from the streets - for good.”
