We’re hiring - Join the Standing Tall team as a Talent Scout!

Standing Tall is an innovative not-for-profit making a real impact in reducing homelessness.

For the past 18 months, we’ve been helping people in Birmingham to move away from the streets for good. Now we’re excited to help more people by launching operations in Manchester and London this summer.

We’re looking for two brilliant people to lead and deliver our offer in Manchester and London. There are TWO roles - one in Manchester and one in London.

Are you interested in making good change happen?

Do you fancy joining a small start-up with a big social mission?

You’re in the right place!

Our Mission

Standing Tall is a social business that matches people experiencing homelessness with stable jobs and safe homes.

80% of the people we help are still off the streets and in the same job one year later!

About the Talent Scout role…

What you’ll be expected to do:

  • Start conversations and build partnerships with businesses that could employ people who have been through homelessness

  • Get referrals from organisations working in homelessness to assess and support individuals who are ready for full-time stable employment

  • Recruit, train and support Standing Tall’s Amici hosts to help them provide safe homes for people who have been through homelessness

  • Look after Standing Tall’s operations and activities in Manchester or London - whichever city you want to work in!

Benefits we’re offering…

Standing Tall is offering a permanent employment contract with an annual salary of £30,000. We’ll also contribute to a NEST pension and we’re offering an additional £4,000 per annum weighting for the London role.

The role is full-time. You’ll be able to work remotely and flexibly.

Standing Tall is an early-stage organisation with a robust business model providing a proven solution to reducing homelessness.

We are agile and we have a fierce ambition to grow our impact.

As a result, this role represents an opportunity to make real change happen while developing and shaping your role as we grow.

A bit about you...

  • You are highly motivated, with a fire in your belly for social justice and a genuine passion to help people reach their potential.

  • You are emotionally intelligent and endlessly curious about people and why people do what they do

  • You are committed to quality and delivering the highest standard of service possible.

  • You are resilient and adaptable with a strong sense of identity and you’ll mix up your approach to get the job done

  • You bring all you have to offer to work with others to help get the best outcome

  • You are financially competent enough to monitor budgets and understand the financial implications of how services are delivered

  • You can think commercially to identify and secure opportunities and build financial surpluses
