Pavel is standing tall!

Today, Pavel is standing tall and he’s an absolute inspiration to me.

When I first met Pavel last summer, times had been tough for him in and out of homelessness. For the last 6 years he hadn’t had a bank account.

6 years.

But I saw he was determined to change his situation. He just wanted the security we all deserve. To find a stable job where his boss had his back. To find a home where he felt safe. To have some control.

At Standing Tall we matched Pavel with a stable job at Nash Glass. Dan Nash and his team have been brilliant supporting Pavel and playing the long game. It just wouldn’t have been possible without them.

At Standing Tall, we employ the person for the first three months on behalf of our employer partners before they provide a standard contract. Pavel’s situation was more tricky. He couldn’t get an employment contract until he had his settlement status.

So we extended Pavel’s temporary contract with Standing Tall one month at a time and waited.

10 months later, Pavel secured his settlement status this week. This means he’s getting his employment contract Nash Glass.

Pavel will now have the security he has always deserved. He’ll now have the stable job where his boss has his back. He can now a home where he feels safe. He finally has some control.
